INNOVATIVE LESSON TEMPLATE REPORT
B Ed 4TH SEMESTER PRACTICAL WORK

INTRODUCTION
This report is mainly to discuss about the innovative lesson plan which was taken at St. Gorettis HSS, Pattom as part of the internship in the fourth semester. Innovative work is defined as “the process of making changes to something established by introducing somethingness”. Innovative work helps a teacher to teach lesson easily. The role of innovative work is very important in English language teaching. In order to teach a lesson innovatory, the teacher must use a lot of pictures, games, models and songs. In teaching learning process the role of innovative work is very important. It makes the class interesting and effective. So, in English language education the role of innovative work is very helpful and pivotal and it is an attempt to recall the different degrees of comparison depicted in the structural activity by student alone. It is prepared based on the chapter ‘The Merchant of Venice’ by William Shakespeare.
This type of working model lesson plans inspires the learners in many aspects. It is through innovative lesson template will yet a good knowledge of the content and they develop a better retention power.

NEED AND IMPORTANCE
As teachers, we need to make our students passionate and eager to learn more and that’s where innovation interferes.
It attracts the student’s attention in the classroom.
It makes them interested in subject and eager to learn more.
It makes them understand the subject rather than just memorizing it.
It makes them creative and productive. The innovative lesson plan working model is prepared and implemented by me to teach eighth standard students at St. Gorettis HSS, Nalanchira. This innovative mainly focused to evoke different skills in learner and how it inspires them to become more effective and efficient in their outlook. Successful in experimenting and implementing new teaching approach. It can widen the knowledge of the students. Moreover, it would also evoke real life experience and creativity.

OBJECTIVES
To help the students to read the word with correct pronunciation.
To recognize the pair of degrees of comparison.
To analyse the understanding of the students about grammar.
To develop language skills among students.
To help students learn and love grammar easily.
To develop creative and productive skills among students.
To check the fear of learning Grammar.

PURPOSE OF THE WORK
As part of internship teaching practice, I opted an innovative work based on the chapter ‘The Merchant of Venice’. This innovative model was prepared to recall the degrees of comparison through a game. This innovative model is prepared to               the needs of all learners. I have -------- prepared another game model to make the study of grammar lively in another lesson plan. This lesson has enough scope to promote student’s creative thinking and attitude towards English grammar learning.

PLAN OF ACTION
An innovative lesson plan was prepared on the chapter ‘The Merchant of Venice’ structural activity from the unit V share and care. After the glossary reference innovative model uses presented before the students and selected four members from each group. Innovative model was prepared to recall the grammar in the previous chapters and through images to find out the pair. It was doubtfully and systematically arranged.

PREPARATION OF THE INNOVATIVE WORKING MODEL
I took great effort to prepare this working model as a base for language game to find out ‘Degrees of Comparison: in three rollers I had written positive, comparative, and superlative degrees with its proper image and it can roll it and placed an arrow to match the correct pairs towards the arrow. Also I prepared chits – written positive degrees of comparison in a box. I used different materials to prepare the model. I selected four students in first turn to play the game each student got four chance and countell their points and it was really motivated the whole students.


The innovative model is meant to study grammar effectively and creatively. Grammar lessons have the unfortunate reputation of being boring, and teachers have the unfortunate job of overcoming this stigma. By considering grammar from different point of view, teachers can overcome strereotypes and students can begin to appreciate the power of language. Through innovative work, the teacher can improve student’s performance by providing group work opportunities and resources to innovative. In this lesson plan, I have prepared degrees of comparison, roller to learn positive comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives. In short, this innovative method is very helpful to the students.

FINDINGS
Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. It is indentifying the great idea of tomorrow and putting them into practise. It is a way finding out the different possibility and widening the horizon of current knowledge. The learners motivated through game, students responded very well to the discourses that were conducted in the class to an extent it was successful.

CONCLUSION
Innovative working model was really a great success. It had accomplished all levels of learning outcome. Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. The important element of this lesson have been transacted to different types of learners in the class. It caters the needs of the learners. Innovative working model are effective in grammar teaching and learning. It may take away the traditional concept and stigma about grammar. But the challenge is innovative lesson plans and models are only included in the B Ed curriculum in the actual classrooms are not practiced or teachers are not getting enough time to present it.
It was great experience as a teacher trainee. I could motivate my students to learn English language creatively through my creative teaching aids especially through this innovative working model.
